About as challenging a photograph as one could envision with a modest speed film. Maintaining the shadow detail and the highlight clouds but with a fast enough shutter to let the viewer know it is a wave crashing into the rocks. Would bet you probably had to shoot that 19" Artar just about wide open. Very nice Merg.
Hi Michael, I've enjoyed the works you have recently shared here. A real treat! Spending more time in the darkroom lately?
This Weston Beach photo is from one of many visits there with Brett. That barrel Artar and Plus-X worked well with the Packard shutter, my only shutter for 8x10.
Best,
Merg
...interesting how the layering of rock emulates waves - forming and cresting on their own geologic schedule...quietly biding their time as the surf behind them grinds on relentlessly and without patience.
