thats a nice one..
mine is defective, missing two parts: the little rail stopper underneath the front standard base, and the handle. The bases for the four back screws have broken off ( the knobs are usable though).
The lock for the front standard backtilt is on the left side on mine.
The back itself is in good condition, turns 360 degrees fluidly, ground glass is newer I guess.
Interestingly yours seems to miss a leather handle altogether, too?
Embdude,
you really could do me a big favour and take a photo of that little rail stopper underneath the front standard as it is impossible to find it online.
I guess it somewhat looks like this ( photo it is from a Perka Präzisionskamera, a 'copy' of a Linhof I)..many thanks.
..many thanks

I have a 5x7 Linhof Tech III (I think). Serial number 25354. Would this be from mid- to late 40s? Or maybe early 50s? By the way, I’m looking for a 4x5 reducing back for it. I have yet to ever see one for sale anywhere. Reducing backs for the IV, yes, but never for the III.
Looks nearly Identical to your Perka photo...
Yours might be a Technika II - basically the same as mine but made after or in the final year of the war and quickly replaced by the 45 III in Oct 1946...
You can tell by how the chrome arms are attached to the bed door, the II used brads and the earlier wartime models used screws.
Mine is missing some hardware - peep-sight and crosshair finder, handle and even the handle attachment hardware. It also has no indentations on the rail for infinity or a focus scale or any signs one was ever attached. Possibly it was just used as a studio camera for tabletop work on a tripod or some other limited application.
5x7 III #25354 would have been among the very last batch of the non-rf III's. From what I can tell the first non-rf 57 IV was 25400 in 1956.
Hopefully Bob Salomon can chime in and set us straight.
BTW: someone is selling a 57-45 reduction back on facebook marketplace and also the facebook Linhof camera group...
Seems we have enhanced this thread for LINHOF beyond serial #
Maybe good, maybe obfuscation
I submit and will post my LINHOF favorites, none 4X5
