I've seen that infomercial on that funky folding ladder that can be made into a table or reach the 30th floor and it folds down to like your pocket.
It was a rather precarious setup, the tripod at maximum, the bottom edge of the image was at the very end of the rocky outcrop ~ 6 feet above the surrounding ground. It was also stormy/windy and hail was intermittently coming down. Taken with a Wista 45SP, bag bellows, Schneider 47XL SA. And, of course, you're looking at the scene upside down and in retrograde, while you are at the same time wondering if the ground is going to rise up and smack you

The sad thing, someone has damaged parts of the petroglyphs in this area, cutting out areas with a rock saw.

Oh man, I don't understand what's wrong with people sometimes. Glad you made it out okay. And glad you were able to capture that image in case it disappears because of bad folks.

Even though human made, the petroglyphs sites exist within the context of, and are wholly tied to the immediate surrounding environment, whatever the original purpose might have been for the indigenous people who worked to create these human heritage sites (art, seasonal calendar, navigation, spiritual), thieves cutting out and destroying, removing a part, lessens the whole, and it also lessens the part. It's a total disgraceful disrespectful degradation. But then old growth thousand-year-old Sequoia trees were turned into fence posts back in the day.

I 100% agree; that is truly disgusting behavior. I hope the parts that remain, remain undisturbed.
