Happy Silver Anniversary LF Forum!
Yes, when QT started the forum, it was originally part of Philip Greenspun's usenet.org. But, as Sal mentioned, QT moved the forum to its own domain after usenet was sold and later became photo.net. It ran at the new domain for a few years on software written by volunteers, and later (2006, or so, as I recall) transitioned to use the vBulletin software. Numerous people have contributed to the operation of the forum over the years, some of whom have since passed.
It has certainly been a "fun ride" over the years, and we thank all those who continue to share their LF wisdom and experience for the benefit of others.
Happy anniversary LFPF! I joined up once I got a breather during raising my boys. It's been a great ride!

I've only been a member for a year and a half (or so), but this is one of the best fora I've ever been a member of. Lots of great information, lots of knowledgeable people.
I wish I had become a member long ago, but I took a hiatus from LF photography from 1998- 2018 to deal with other aspects of life.
Happy 25th Anniversary, many thanks to all those who have made this forum great.
My involvement in photography drifts in and out, and I participate in several other forums on different topics, but I regard this one as home--the most informative and civil forum I have ever seen. Thanks to QT for starting it, and also to all of you for being such stellar human beings.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

For film photography, the silver anniversary is particularly appropriate, but not so much the golden. Maybe 25 years from now will be platinum? In any case, I'll add my voice to the chorus of thanks here to all those who provide this site. Returning to photography several years back, starting out with unfamiliar equipment (field camera instead of studio 4x5; spot meter; misc.) and relearning/retesting everything, this forum has been absolutely invaluable throughout, and a continuing reference point for my attempts to produce work of quality. Thank you, one and all.

Let me add my thanks to the moderators, and the contributors, for making this Forum one of the best sites of any kind on the internet and without peer among those photography-related. Long may it continue!
A great site with wonderful and dedicated people. So much information and creative talent. Thanks to QT and moderators.
