Thank you for the comments
In anticipation of my new Chamonix 5x12 camera coming later this year I am reworking a couple of images in PS to preview the format. FP4+, Pyrocat M, printed and cropped in PS.

The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Merg,"Reeds" is my most favorite image of yours.
From 2016: It was mid-March, and the last snow was dropping off the trees as I made this picture. I just got around to making a satisfactory print from it.
Woodland Township, 2016
Pat, you picked a good one; thanks. This has always had a special place in my life as a photographer --- it was my first published photograph, appearing in the 25th Anniversary edition of US Camera, 1961. It was also my first sale of an 8x10 contact print: $15, signed, and delivered! I'm enjoying your recent (and past) work.
Is it ok if I didn't take it? This is a news photo from 12/30/1941
"Officer Jerry Shea examines sheepskin lined slipper and hat found at spot from which middle-aged man was last seen to leap into Chicago River early this morning. Coast Guardmen are dragging for the body" Chicago Daily News
I went back yesterday with my 4x5. 135mm FP4 in Pyrocat HD.
