Must have been tough 'performing' the magic with all the press around! I like #2 a whole bunch. There is a tension built up in the image -- perhaps partly due to her feet, shoulders and head are all at different angles. Her stance has wound-up energy in it...while her arms are crossed, they are ready for movement.
The first image, the headshot, is well done, and the shallow DoF works better than most do for me, but I think her eyes could have carried the image even with more DoF.

Even us old large format photographers should be aware of current events. This is great work. (Thanks to Oren for moding some of the discussion.)

Shane does awesome work. I don't care who he photographed, this is a great set of pictures.

That is so neat. With all the press coverage, this is the most humble and endearing. So nice, maybe she can spread the word about large format next.
Beautiful images!
It's pretty rare to have a chance to photo the current media sensations. They are very ephemeral and access is highly controlled. Working within the constraints of wet plate increases the difficulty by several orders of magnitude.

Maybe he could work on technique a bit so the next time overexposure is not a problem?
