I swear this could be a catapult ready to be fired.

I like the riot of shapes and tones, this particular subject is difficult represent well (in my experience anyway).

Thanks, Steve. I didn't think of it at the time, but now that you mention it, the downed tree does kind of look like a catapult or trebuchet. Watch out!

The woods was full of late afternoon light, which helped. For once, there wasn't a branch in the foreground or corner to hose things up.
