Hello all,
I need a couple of machine screws for a dial-set Compound shutter that's holding a Zeis Jena 25cm lens.
Can I assume the screws that hold the shutter cocking lever on the shaft to be metric?
Thanks
John

I think I tried this, but a machinist told me once that with the very small screws, the thread pitch is the same, and the diameters are about very close, but interchangeable for the given stock sizes between SAE and metric...
A place to find different size fine screws, taps, nuts, washers etc is a good model train store, as they are used for scale model locomotive repairs...
Your lever screws are metric, BTW...

Thanks!

Dial compurs are much commoner than Compounds and I would be willing to bet that the right screws wil be lurking in a discarded Compur shutter.
Thanks,
But for me right now a discarded Compur shutter is much more rare in my junk drawer.
there is a specialist online for small metric screws http://metricscrews.us/
for regular metric screws try McMaster-Carr online www.mcmaster.com
