Me with my Wehman 8x10:
Is this recent?
Looks green....as I look with envy on camera and greenness!
Toyo 810M today, trying out a wide Nikkor lens.
Wow, I still need to get a really decent 4x5 and you guys are giving me 8x10 lust.
If I just had a way to optically enlarge it I'd go 8x10 but I don't and am not likely to, nor do I want to be confined to scanning and contact prints.
LOL, well if you saw my negatives from today you would definitely not be envious. I did a terrible job exposing $40 worth of film. I guess I should stick to x-ray until I'm not an idiot!
But yeah 8x10 is my "cheapest" format if I shoot x-ray film. One of these days I'll build an 8x10 enlarger, but for now contact prints and scans / digital prints are their own joy. 4x5 is still my favorite and most flexible format.
Yeah. I have a project in mind for which 8x10 would be best but 4x5 or even 6x7 (still planning to get an RB or RZ) will do just fine. Ironically I can print my 4x5 negatives up to 16x20 with cropping at that but couldn't optically print 8x10 larger than contact size so - 4x5 it is. And film isn't so expensive I have to use x-ray, though cutting some down to experiment with has occurred to me.
