I have actually "collected" cigarette ashes for a while - cups full of it.....
And at one point I considered trying to deduct my cigarette amount on my tax, as "I don't like to smoke, but need the ashes"..... I didn't dare as the tax people doesn't seem to have humor in them...
The licking is fun and quick, BUT also a good way to make the negative damp - not too wet. The ashes binds easier this way...

I shot with Merrique 2 years ago. She came back through Portland Late this Summer. Developer was a little hot. 8x10 shot with a Dallmeyer 3a. wide open.

Beautiful....the Aero seems to have a"Petzval" background.
