Local is better for equipment like that, and Craigslist typically has a number of enlargers or entire darkroom setups for low money.

Yup, Craigslist. I recently purchased an LPL 4550 XLG with 4 carriers for $350.00. You can usually find these in the under $500 range. You can probably get something a bit older a bit cheaper. Good luck.

I'm in the Atlanta area and have an Omega D2 that I no longer use. I have various condensers and carriers including 4x5. I might be able to meet you in North GA or Western NC the next time I'm up shooting. PM me and we can chat if you are interested.

Sadly, also check with local schools and colleges. Often their staff moonlights at local photo shops (if you have any of those left!) I know a fellow who picked up half a dozen Beseler 45 enlargers from a local college that was closing down their darkroom. He also picked up two 8x10 enlargers from a local business who closed down their darkroom. There for a while he was looking for someone to take the surplus 4x5 enlargers off his hands (I got one, much newer than the Beseler 45 I got when the local high school closed down their darkroom.) His basement is something of a dream lab now, which is nice as his wife is also a film photographer.
