Maybe I'll try intensifying the negative at some point and see what that does.

    Hi Jonathan,

Marvelous shot and composition. I've been doing much the same - going back over old negatives, reprinting and improving them. It's an enjoyable challenge. I posted one recently in urban landscapes post #1888

BTW did you ever use the expired 8x10 film - just wondering how it turned out.

    Kind regards,

    Dennis

Thanks, Dennis. Seeing my old work reminds me of what I am capable of. It's good to be reminded of that sometimes.

I shot this scene on Velvia as well. (Sorry for the repost.) By virtue of being a tad underexposed it is closer in spirit to Ari's B&W interpretation. :

Your models have moved!! (Or one of them did) how dare they!

I like both, I suppose it was a question of either the sky being blown out or the rocks being too dark, I suppose it could have been pulled to reduce contrast? but I'm not really familiar with how Velvia handles push/pull. Or even if E-6 behaves the same way with contrast with push/pull. I'm a Newb when it comes to any 'advanced' color work.

First time poster here. Just got started shooting in early 2013 when I was gifted a Calumet 4x5 Monorail. I have since bought a Crown Graphic for the portability and have enjoyed taking that out into the field to do landscape shooting.

This is an image shot with the Crown Graphic and a Nikkor SW 90mm f/8 lens on Kodak Portra 160, which was then developed in the Tetenal kit. It would have been shot at f/32 and probably somewhere between 30 seconds and 1.5 minutes for exposure.

The scene is on the Eno River, just north of Durham, North Carolina and is one of the best locations for rapids/flowing water in this part of the state that I've found! On the cold November morning that I made the image, I was out by myself for quite some time and then about halfway through my shoot, a digital shooter came by and I got the classic "Shooting film?! There's not many of you guys left!" A humorous moment to say the least. I think this guy fired off a couple hundred shots hand held during the time he was there.

Very nice image, Kabbott! It deserves to be printed large and hung in the living room.

Oh wow...nice. Do you mind if I share this with my friends with you credited? I love the detail you show.
I'm armed with a Wisner 4x5 Technical Field and a lot of hope. I got this. Oh, and my name's Andrew.

Feel free to share it. Credit is optional as far as I'm concerned. Thanks.
