I cannot get a crystal clear look to the glass. Tried iclean, ammonia-water (like windex), any ideas? thanks.

For what it's worth, i have wet mounted with my V700 scratched the glass used books to flatten photos and mags and it is still firing on all cylinders, it must be 4 years old easy probably more - i use cheapo windex from the no name famous brand - i will say this though the inside/ underside of the platen could do with a good clean - i may actually take some notice of previous posts when i do that.
Wondering if and when there is a newer model to the 700 / 750?
Windex works great, or the heavy duty stuff at Home Depot or Lowes
sometimes the schmutz is inside on the scanner-head side of the glass.
Is the glass dirty on the inside or on the outside?
If it is inside, search the forum for instructions on removing the glass for cleaning; it's easy and takes little time.
And Windex works perfectly, as everyone here says.
We use Day Glass Cleaner for enlarger neg carrier glass and scanner glass. We also use it for all our framing needs.
thanks Ari/ Bob, others — I use ammonia mixed with water, which is basically like Windex and a paper towel. Is Day Glass cleaner or anything else that much different? I know with my Mac monitor I'm careful to by the recommended Apple products.
paper towel tend to leave bits and pieces... I use kerosine + paper towel, then microfiber and vacuum cleaner.. and still getting fluff.. its hopeless..
Lens cleaner and old tee shirt
I've used different lens cleaners. Currently I use the Zeiss pads. I've assumed without really knowing that a cleaner good enough for a lens should be good enough for a piece of glass.
