49255 is late 1949 or early 1950.

Sorry, that is what my records show for a 69 III. It shows 49000 being made in June of 55. I now see that their is quite some confusion on the list for the 69 III and it shows the IV 69 without rangefinder pre dating the III. I just checked the Linhof Camera Story book and it does show a small picture of a III on page 96 but it does not list the 69 III in the technical spec section of the book and no manufacturing dates for the 69 III are given. However, the dates for the IV 69 model are different then what is on my list and are more likely correct.
