Linhof Serial Numbers

I bought this beat up Technika 6x9 III that is really a IV since it has the quick release back. I has a serial number of 90407. Is it a III or a IV?

I plan to take it apart, have it sand blasted and powder coated white. I did this years ago for a Technika 4x5 III and it turned out well - did not need any leather covering - not authentic but very practical.

90623 is listed in Modern Photography as the final IV made in 1963 so your camera 90407 is one of the last.

Thanks, very interesting. Here is a picture of its sad state. The seller was in India and I paid about $100 for it, thinking it was a converted III - nice surprise!

Wow that is quite the project! Good luck! Hopefully you will share the progress on the forum. My own 57 Technika winter project is now a 2+ winter project...

Linhof Technika 70 with serial number 1711735. This camera has 3 Technikon lenses 58, 100 and 180. Looks to be a late model in the series. Bob what year was it manufactured? Thanks. Two of the Linhof Rodenstock lenses have serial numbers 5186761 and 4997560 can you date them too?

My Linhof Technika V 5x7 arrived today with serial number 2451101. I think it is one of the last before they were discontinued in 1983. Thanks Bob for any information on this.
