Very nice, Sergei.
Very nice, Sergei.
Sergei, Excellent portrait! wonderful clarity for the subject with strong features and noce use of DOF.
Generalizations are made because they are Generally true...
Nope. *knock on the wood*. Only if i try to pull them really really REALLY high - then i can see some weird stuff, but i never need to pull that (or i just throw negative away if i do ).
Check the upper portion of glass , where the calibrating bit is - make sure you don't have speckles of dust or something in there. I use makeup cuboku brush to clean it before scanning (same brush as i use to clean holders and lenses, btw - they are cheap and super soft)
Thank you. Well. . its a downsize of downsize, and my algorithms set for sharpness not for gradients So while original is tack sharp at 2400dpi, once you get from there to 6k/4k and then to web size and then to flickr.. it gets sometime a bit odd on edges due frequency issues.
Perhaps try a downsize of the 2400dpi to 1024px and do a 40%-50% unsharp mask, that's really all it takes. Forget algorithms and frequency, it is obviously not working for the web. I usually upload a 300dpi real size image to flickr and simply choose the Medium size (640px). It looks like you're pushing the ratio way way up.
I also make the same mistake now and then, but I find it ruins the nice soft/sharp large format yields. The light and pose are just perfect!
