    Olaf Otto Becker's "Broken Line"

A friend of mine directed my attention to a lovely collection of photographs called Broken Line. The photographer is Olaf Otto Becker and he spent three years afloat along the Western coast of Greenland.

I thought it might be interesting to some here. The page (rightly) concentrates on the images and content rather than technicals but it does mention that everything was taken on large format film.

That's almost exactly what I wanted to do, but on the other shore of the straight (Labrador coast). I even bought the sailboat to do it, but the sail is far too technical for my modest craft and amateurish sailing. Someday perhaps. Lovely photos.

He didn't know how to sail before he started either. Part of the text says he bought his boat and hired somebody to teach him to sail it.

Interesting work and concept behind it. Thanks for posting.
