    dead link....

Just got this book in the mail; English translated 2nd Edition from 2022. I thought especially the many bad translation flaws in the first edition would have been corrected in this 2nd edition, however really nothing seems to have been done to make it any better (although I cannot compare it to the first edition since I don't have it - but I've read about its bad English translation). There are many bad sentences, and even there are many (what I guess) Italian phrases in the English sentences. There are also sentences which are sometimes double printed after each other, and many more flaws.
It really is not up to the standard of both later editions on German and English lenses, but still nice to have if you haven't much other info on the old French lens makers. Textual information is a bit scarce too compared to the other editions (and especially when compared to other - known - French editions on lenses).
