    ? Is that what they are calling 3D these days? I'm used to a pair of photographs.

    That's a lightfield recording instead of a stereograph. Adjustable DOF would be my description of it rather than 3D, though there is clearly depth information required to reconstruct the focal plane arbitrarily.

    The Lytro technology is cool, if extremely immature (mostly for lack of resolution, because it's fundamentally a tradeoff from output resolution for depth resolution) at this point. It'll be interesting to see if they can get it to simulate full camera movements in addition to refocusing and focus-stacking.

    I guess "refocusable" would be a better choice than 3D, although the data can be interpreted in 3D form.
