Although stuck here in Puget Sound would sure like to see some photo's posted of the first backers holding their new Travelwides. For those fortunate enough to pick up their cameras and hobnob with Ben and Justin, have fun folks.
Is there any word when shipping will begin?
Monday morning, oh five thirty.
Was this in regard to Jim Cole's comment? (that's 2:30 AM here on the west coast, I'll probably be awake, old folks have trouble sleeping)
But seriously, it really is time for Ben to commit to a timeline for shipping to backers. If that is unreasonable then I like to know why.
If it's the money for shipping that's holding up the show then I'd chip in $20 and I'm sure a few other US based backers would but I don't know how many others would go along with with that idea.
It's a joke. I have no idea, but doubt the boys will be up before eight.
It's not unreasonable to want a timeline, but unfortunately, I can't give you one. The reasons why: 1) We haven't had all the parts and collateral until this week, and 2) we need to completely optimize the shipping process to save me money. It's oddly difficult to get a quote on bulk shipments from different carriers. They really make it difficult. The easy thing to do is to ship through a fulfillment service which already has contracts with USPS, UPS and FedEx, but they're all pretty expensive, and most of them are too full-featured.
So honestly, international fulfillment is just not that easy. Bear with us! We will get these out as quickly as we possibly can.
Ben, I for one am not in a gosh awful hurry but will gladly send an extra $20.00 for shipping. That shipping can really add up.
Thank you Ben for that answer to my question. I'm quite sure it was on the mind of several backers.
I'm sure shipping for 1000 cameras could exceed $20K total and that would be a serious out of pocket expense.
Have fun and hopefully less pressure at the pick-up party. Post a few pictures if you can.
I just picked mine up and will open the box later tonight. Ben and his wife are wonderful people and I am glad to finally meet them.
I dare complainers to do anything this complicated.
Now back to my impossible projects...LOL
