My name is Jim. I am a long time lover of film photography and often shoot 35mm and medium format. I just got a Calumet 4x5 (I think it is a CC-403, but I am not positive). It came with a very nice and sturdy case, 6 film holders, and a Calumet Caltar-S II 8 1/4" f5.6 lens. I found it on craigslist and got it out the door for $250. It is in VERY new or like new condition and I am super excited. I just ordered a box of Arista.EDU Ultra 400 (50 sheets) from freestyle along with some 5x7 trays for tray developing.

I was just doing a bit of research and this site, and some great info., kept popping up, so I thought I should join you all as I plan to learn and shoot LF for a long time to come, and I'm sure that a good support network will be invaluable to shaving down the learning curve.

Speaking of learning curve, I am currently enrolled in the lighting and large format class at my school for the spring `12 semester. I am in the MFA Photography program at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I am happy to share what I learn with others as I am sure I will learn a lot from you all. Any advice is welcome!
