Fuji 160s 8x10 sheet film in USA

Hi folks, I'm in the UK, and a fellow photographer a while ago told me he buys all his 8x10 Fuji 160s negative sheet film from the USA, and gets it exported here, which is cheaper than just buying it in the UK. Where would you folks recommend I buy it from to exploit the £/$ exchange rate etc.

Thanks in advance for your help / advice...

Fuji 160S in 8x10 was discontinued earlier this year or late last year. Fuji no longer (At least for the US marked) makes color negative film in the 8x10 format.

I would give Bellamy Hunt over in Japan a shot:

My understanding is that he took over from JAPAN EXPOSURES. Might end up being as expensive as the UK, though...

Has Fuji admitted that they discontinued 8x10 C41 in the US yet, or are they still pretending that it's available?

Re: Fuji 160s 8x10 sheet film in USA

When i went to the Photo Expo in NYC i spoke with a FujiFilm USA representative.
He was at the tiny little film booth with the nice new Fuji folder camera.
I asked him about 8x10 film and he said that FujiFilm USA is no longer importing any 8x10 film stock.
He was very clear about that, i mean very clear (raised his voice and leaned forward kinda clear).
Nothing was mentioned about other film sizes as they are still importing them.
This has no bearing on what FujiFilm Japan is making or doing as they are separate in terms of the products they offer.
I asked about special orders but he didn’t seem to think that was an option. But i guess if you throw enough money at the problem, anything can happen.

Im stocking up on 3-5 cases of 8x10 Provia RDP3 for my LVT. That should give me a years supply, boy that’s expensive!
After the Fuji warehouse and dealer stocks are gone, we will be at the mercy of Kodak and what they decide to offer.
Kodaks pricing, which is a bit higher now that we have to special order just about everything 8x10 will seriously impact everyone.
We have to plan out a year or more worth of work, buy and store the film.

I really need another film freezer!

You can get it in the uk here

    http://www.process-supplies.co.uk/pr...sub_cat_id=206

if you are only buying small numbers then when you add on shipping and taxes it is not that much more costly

Hunt didn't "take over" -- he's simply someone else doing the same thing.

Ouch... $400 for 20 sheets of 8x10 Fuji 160S? You'd have to really hate Portra 160.

$20 a sheet? One sheet costs $20? You wouldn't so much have to hate Portra as you'd have to be rich. I don't think I could trip the shutter at $20 a sheet unless I thought I had a "Moonrise" equivalent in front of me.

Portra 160 is already $12 per sheet, so it's not cheap either... Definitely not a spray + pray medium!
