I've done a lot of work with the 3880. It's super nice-- especially the ability to switch between MK and PK quickly.

Thanks guys, I ordered one today.
Another big thumbs up for the 3880.
Although it can't take roll paper, the max cutom settable print size is 37x17 inches. So if you want BIG 2:1 panoramics you could buy your paper in a roll, cut it to size and feed it manually. Some care needs to be taken though.
Good luck and happy printing.
Just got my 3880 last week. So far, so good. Although I am about to pull the plug on the K7/K8 inset since - I am strictly B&W. Not saying the Epson K3vm inks are not good for B&W, just that I loved what a friend got off his K7 special inkset. Mine was also a plug and play experience. Just have to make sure you set the paper thickness and platen gap for the paper you are using in ABW.
Also, printed a few 17x22 without issue and they came out flawless using the rear feeder.
Note: Epson really packages the printer well and there is a lot of tape inside and outside the printer so take your time pulling it off slowly. Every time you think you got the last piece of tape off, you find another so use a flashlight to check inside.
Define "blew up" Maybe you just have a simple problem to fix.
