Alan: When were these pictures taken of the USS Texas?
Idle Boats, Lake Cootharaba
Gelatin-silver photograph on Ilford MG IV VC RC photographic paper, image size 19.3cm X 24.5cm, from a 4x5 Kodak TriX Pan Professional negative
exposed in a Tachihara 45GF double extension field view camera fitted with a Schneider Super Angulon 90mm f8 lens.
Photography:first utterance. Sir John Herschel, 14 March 1839 at the Royal Society. "...Photography or the application of the Chemical rays of light to the purpose of pictorial representation,..".
This was an early photo of mine. A petzval mounted on a copal3, on a Omega 4x5. TriX in Rodinal.
I had the camera preset to a specific point, but found a better shot, but as I turned the camera on the tripod (mounted on rocks on a jetty)
the level was lost.
Anyways, here's the shot. f4 no-name brass lens, slight vignetting.
Wow, Maris, that's one complex and tricky scene to compose, beautifully handled. The eye never tires of exploring. Although your technique and vision is quite different, the lyricism of this image immediately reminded me of Peter Henry Emerson.
