Edward Steichen's lens in this self-portrait?

Just curious if any of you are sharp-eyed enough to identify the soft focus lens on Steichen's camera in this self-portrait of his dated from 1917. The camera looks like an 8x10 Eastman Kodak No.2 to me, but I'm not familiar enough with vintage achromatic portrait lenses. (It's not important really, just curious.)

My guess is a Cooke RVP or Achromatic Portrait Lens mounted in a universal iris clamp.
