Wista 45 SP front standard alignment problem

I have a Wista 45 SP and a handful of different lenses. There appears to be something wrong with the alignment of the front standard. (But there is no discernible physical damage to the camera.)

With the camera leveled and pointed toward something such as a distant landscape where everything should be in focus at infinity (and also in a copy stand type arrangement with the subject aligned in parallel to the film plane), the only way to make the image sharp edge to edge is to tilt the front standard back slightly from what is indicated as the "neutral position". (By neutral position, I mean the little markings on the front standard that are supposed to line up when no front tilt is being employed.) I would say that the degree by which the two markings are off is roughly 1/8".

I am able to take this into account when shooting so that the camera still works, but it is extremely annoying to work around this issue.

Does anyone have anyone have any suggestion as to what might be causing this issue?

One suspicion I have is that the generic lens boards I am using do not fit perfectly, but I have a hard time imagining that this would account for the degree of misalignment that I'm seeing.

Anyone encountered this issue? Suggestions. Many thanks, MMO

Are the back and front standards parallel? Or, is the standard perpendicular to the bed?

Check front and back standards with a bubble level.
If you find they are way off, better to send it in for re-alignment.
I use the markings as a guide only.
