Why do some french bands choose to sing in english?
Why is it easier to hug someone than to say "i'm sorry"

I photograph because photography is another language, and some things you can not say with words...

I photograph to preserve fleeting moments of light and landscape for all eternity. I also like to see what things look like on big pieces of film.

What else am I going to do with these cameras?

Seriously, it's all pretty new to me. I'm just exploring what I can do with these 2 dimensional image making devices.

    Why?
I like pictures and have fun to take them!
I enjoy the process of photographing an releasing the shutter - and finally holding a picture in my hands.

    As a ransom against time.

When all the photographs are gathered up and there are no more to be done it is slim baggage indeed for a journey into eternity. But it is baggage. Most people travel with nothing.

It's only rock & roll but I like it, like it... yes I do.

Quote borrowed from Jagger & Richard but the concept carries over.

I like it like it... yes I do.

    Re: Why do you photograph?

I consider a projected image as a multidimensional wave-train. I like to make imprints of these and play with them, then put those manipulated vibrations out into the world in a way which transcends time, place or individual.

Or because I wish to walk in the beauty around me, which I think is about the same thing, though I mean that in a pantheistic way.

If I could verbalize it better maybe I'd write poetry instead.
