Here is my question,
does it matter in quality if your photo printer is connected to the computer or your wireless??
I have heard both ways, any opinions?
Thanks

I would assume that if your wireless network is reliable such that there is no packet loss or collisions, and printer sharing is set up properly, there should not be any problems.
Just an fyi: I keep my photo printer connected to my machine, and it is not shared. I have had zero communication problems.

Image quality will not matter; it's all digital transmission. Wired is always more reliable though.
I once had an art director tell me the image quality of a digital file was smoother when it was from a SyQuest drive rather than a CD.
People are pretty gullible.
Only issue is speed, depending on the size of the files.... a hard wire is much faster.

With very large print jobs, does your printer start printing before it receives the entire job? If so, and if your wireless network can't keep up, your printer may pause until it's buffer is full again. It is possible that the interruption of the flow of ink could cause flaws in the image (don't know that for sure). But given the traffic on my wireless network (teenagers downloading Netflix) I would expect problems with large print jobs sent over the wireless network.
