I've been shuffling around an old and huge Weingartshofer - Petzval lens in the same shop which haven't been listed on their web site. They even reduced price from 770€ to 700€ for me. I'm just counting how much money I'll save if I don't eat next 10days... ;-)
I've already bought couple of lenses and sold some Leica gear in that shop.

I have its little brother, a 10" one, that I use with my Graflex Super D 4x5. It's very sharp wide open and out of focus areas are very smooth like those of RR lenses. Not harsh like some Petzval lenses. One advantage of it over a Petzval lens is you can focus sharply on the edge or corner of the your ground glass.

The f/3.5 one is a soft focus lens which I got from this Leicashop a few years ago for half of the listing price of this f/4.5 one. It's one of my favorite lenses.

Do you know the focal length of that Weingartshofer? It sounds very tempting.

There were two Bi-qualities that sold on ebay for $3500 this year... Also an eidoscope #1 that went for $4000, and a #3 for $1050.

No I don't know it but the approximate dimensions (if I remember it correctly) were: diameter 10cm, length including the lens shade 23-24cm.

Hugo, would you be so kind to post or send me some photo taken with the "little brother"? It could help me to decide...

Just rec a 18"Verito in no 5 Studio shutter. Very nice, clean glass (2 very small sep marks on rear element, maybe 1/2 mm ea.) Shutter and app work, very clean barrel. Beautiful. Cost: $950 shipped.

I can add to this, CCH, B&J made several soft focus lenses under contract, one of these was the Pinkham & Smith. I have used these and some others that I really liked, one of my favorites was the Kodak Portrait lens.

Trying to extrapolate from this... did B&J make the P&S Bi-Quality? Did they make any other P&S lenses?

And did they make the 305mm and 405mm Kodak Portrait Lenses?

Given your time at B&J, you're uniquely qualified to clear up some long-standing mysteries! Thank you!
