LOT 0890 DETAILS
Globe Wide-Angle Lens by Hermagis, Paris, No. 18267, c. 1875
A lens similar to the "Globe" by Harrison consisting of two convex achromatic lenses. Different from "Globe Avec Diaphragmes Perfectionnés" dating from 1872, this lens does not have a shift diaphragm but a revolver diaphragm. Height: 39 mm. Front lens: Ĝ approx. 42 mm. Focal length: approx. 40 cm.
The brass was in very bad condition so the engraving was unreadable. Didn't look like a Globe, which is why I added the (?)! The other Globe copy/improvement "lentiforme de l'oeil" by Gasc & Charconnet is more easy to identify.
Today at Deutsch Auctionneers sale, a Dallmeyer 6D in poor condition: 2794 euros
