Re: Anyone uses QTR with 7880?

The newest line of Stylus Pro printers is not supported because they use some new Epson driver protocol. QTR tried to contact Epson for more details but Epson didn't respond.

So if you want to use Piezo inks or Carbon6 Inks, without QTR. Maybe some other, much more expensive RIPs could be used.

with my RIP there is a hack for the x880s, so if someone is really motivated they should contact Roy or Jon directly and see if they've worked something out not be be posted publicly. It's also listed as supported on the Cone site.
Not trying to argue, just making sure someone with this model exhausts the options. I sure would if I had one.
The newest x900s are nort supported, but they are OT.

Re: Anyone uses QTR with 7880?

I successfully got my Epson 7880 running with QTR. I started to use Iflord Galerie Gold Fibre Silk and so far, I created a neutral custom profile. I hope to have 7 more:

Neutral, Cobalt, CobaltBlue, Copper, Gold, Palladium, Selenium, Sepia and Iron.

I'll keep you posted. It seems that that profiles could be used for 4880,9880 as well.

Yes on the 7880, 9880, 3880, 4880. We already provide the K7 curves for these printers and QTR drives them directly.
