    software for cropping

Looking for sortware where I can do cropping in thumbnail view without the need to open each picture. The crops are different sized at different places.
    thanks and kind regards

Since you can't batch-process your images because of differing crops, you'll likely have to open each image and do it manually. I am not aware of any software that would crop without an image file being open.

If you are looking to crop images so that the resuting images are all the same size, you could create an action in Photoshop to automate at least some of the steps.

Not at thumb size but Lightroom will essentially do this without opening anything else.

The latest LR has a crop tool on the develop tab.

Crop, click on the next image, crop... You can even rotate the crop.

I have ACR with CS2 also which does essentially the same thing, both are very fast once they are open.
