Need Help: Problem with Microtek i900

Maybe someone on the forum has had this problem and knows the answer, since the Microtek people are not around any longer. I've been scanning 8x10 black and white prints; anything with a light gray background shows a few very faint horizontal white lines across the image. They may be there on darker prints, but are not visible to my eyes. I've cleaned the glass, inside and out, and blown out dust from inside the scanner. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

    Microtek is back, sort of:

    http://www.microtekusa.com/

They are at least maintaining the support site and posting software updates - just the other day I was able to use one to fix a bug with my i800 running under Vista.
