    My new web site!

My new web site went live today.

I decided to go with livebooks and found it to be a breeze. They have something called edit suite which is the place where you manage your site. It is very comprehensive and super simple. It has a drag and drop interface to arrange images. They have lots of videos available and you can add video and sound. They also have a sales module.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

John, It looks great. I like the simple layout and the image browsing is very user friendly. Best of all your images look fantastic. I am partial to your color work though.

And I like the B&W.:-) One thought - some of the images look oversharpened. I do not see halos, but they look a little "crunchy." The cover shot has the look a little. It may be the unavoidable problem of trying to shrink a very detailed LF shot down to the pixels of a iPhone camera to fit it on the WWW.

Looking at this from a straight presentation point of view, there are very few people on this forum whose sites come anywhere close to this.

Thank you all for checking out the new site and sharing the kind words!

Ed, I hate itsy bitsy low rez images so I applied some sharpening to give them a little more pop. It sounds like I must have gone to far. I appreciate the honest feed back.

I'm not crazy about gallery navigation choice myself, since you don't have a lot of images in the galleries the thumbnails seem like an unnecessary hold over from the low band-width days... but now you can load all eight images no problem.

But it is nice, and as someone said, better than 99% of the photographer websites out there.

LiveBooks is probably what I'd choose right now too, they have their act together and they've lowered prices. The company that Rob Haggart set up is good too: http://aphotofolio.com/

I use DripBooks myself for my second website. Same idea but LiveBooks has better templates and user interface. But Dripbooks has other features and it is inexpensive.

    And btw, excellent photos!

The gray on black writing is very difficult to see on my screen. I can't read the small text above 'Add to Cart' at all.
