Scanning 8x10 Negs with Epson v750

Does anyone know where i could get a good understanding of how to scan 8x10 negs with the epson v750? Thanks!!

If so, what went right and what went wrong?

Perhaps some more information on the specifics that you're after will help with the responses.

is there a certain type of holder that i need for this?

No holder for 8x10. I scan my negatives emulsion down, gives me the least problems with newton rings. Your V750 should come with a frame or border for 8x10 negatives, this is just a simple piece of black plastic.
I don't do any digital printing so this is just for viewing on the monitor.
