I once sold a car that had a McDonalds french fry in it.

Given I had owned the car for about 8 years and never eaten Macca's in that time, I'm guessing that it was cooked at least 9 years before hand.

It looked like it was new.

If only Walt Disney had chosen McDonalds' preservatives over being frozen...

I developed a roll of tmy that was at least 15 years exposed. It showed a bit of base fog, but otherwise was entirely usable.

Likewise, last year while cleaning out closets at my parents house, we stumbled across an old roll of 620 film. I added just a touch of anti-fog to some fresh developer and got some rather excellent images of my brother and I with our brand new cowboy hats and toy six-shooters. My mother tells me she shot that photo on Christmas day of 1958. (which suggests what an old fart I really am). I will try to dig out the print I made from that negative and post it later tonight. No laughing allowed.

There's a guy that posts in the "Classic Cameras" section of photo.net who develops "found film" all the time. Some of it is quite old.

I do not disparage digital... it is another, sometimes VERY useful, tool for me.

That said, I belong to a group of LF photographers here in Phoenix. Our print requirements are minimal... 6 LF prints per year. We draw months out of a hat in December for the following year, offering the first three months to anyone who is ready now, taking the heat off those who are less prolific or more lazy. So, some members pick Nov or Dec and still wait till then to do six prints. Anyway, one member was supposed to show in Nov. He asked if he could postpone to Dec. No problem. We have our Dec. meeting and he now has to postpone to Jan. The reason... computer upgrade/printer profile problems.

Yes, give me the fumes and fatigue any day!
