Looking for more detailed info about Minor White's workshops

In his book "The Zen of Creativity," John Daido Loori writes about his experience with Minor White and White's photographic workshops back in the (don't quote me on this) 1960s. I have been quite captivated by the sort of workshop he describes, and frankly I want to try to find out as much as I can about what these workshops were like. What was the content and direction? How was it presented? How long were these workshops? Was anyone here fortunate enough to attend any of these workshops? Any information I can find about these workshops and any contemporary workshops that are currently being held that take the same sort of inspiration would be greatly appreciated. I'm glad to track down reading material, but I'm having a hard time finding a starting point with this.

    Thanks!

David, most of the people I knew that took workshops from Minor White are deceased, however not all. The period of workshops that I am thinking of were during the years that Minor was in Rochester and teaching at RIT (1956-64). Paul Caponigro has written of his experiences in the workshops, so you may want to check out his writings.

Also, Minor's students at RIT (Carl Chiarenza, Peter Bunnell, Jerry Uelsmann) may have taken his workshops and could be a source. Peter is probably the foremost scholar on the life and teachings of Minor; this would be a good place to start your research.

There's some information about his workshops and his classes (seems reasonable to assume that there was some overlap between the workshops and classes) in the excellent Aperture book "Minor White: Rites and Passages."

Email me privately. I can give you the name of someone who studied with him when he was at MIT.

I'm pretty sure David knows about this one as I just read his copy of this book yesterday. Then again, his copy is here in Texas and he's in Korea so maybe....
