Wind/Leaves
Wind/Leaves
from a "little green man" (aka Galli petzval)
I screwed around with Pt/Pd first time last month(backed up with tons of help from members here and another site). Well, unfortunately, almost all my first batch(9 prints) turned out to be miserably ugly, but there were 2 I think is OK for a first time try out.
Hey, guess what?! these two prints HAPPEN to be LEAVES. I mean JUST!
Pt/Pd on Platine. I have to get back to this process asap, but I just didn't feel the confidence yet...

Thanks Jim and thanks Jiri.
This is an example of my unashamedly adjusting the image. These foxglove leaves were very soft pale green with a fine fuzzy hairy surface. The subject brightness range was very narrow. I wanted to dramatically enhance the contrast which I did with a red filter then with cranking up the contrast up in PS. The PS work though was lots of different local adjustments, not one overall.
So it has more than leaves.

It is very intimidating to post here, but here I go!
Two recent 8X10's. One with an 8" (+ or -) Petzval. The third is a 5X7 from last year. All printed on Azo in Ansco 130.

gone with the wind ...!
This is from my first walk with a 4x5 camera. It's actually the only one I like from that walk, out of 8-10 shots.
Thanks for looking.
