Thank you very much, Mark. I appreciate the encouragement.
All the best,

A new one done with the Pinkham Smith 14" Bi-Quality (Visual Quality Serie IV) in honor of the one that sold on Ebay tonight!

This is what the new owner can expect. Lovely lens.
Jim,
You are a magician! This is one of the most lovely pictures I have seen and I am sure the new owner will create some beautiful memories with his new toy.
Thank you for this melodious sonata, my Maestro!

Here are a couple of shots I took with 2 different Pinkham lenses. You can see that they are entirely different characters and to make this fun, I thought I would name them A and B and let everyone post their guesses. I will reveal the answers when we've had a little fun with them. Hope this is not too much of a tease....

Both gorgeous, but I can't tell from a 48kb picture. I propose you send both the pictures and the lenses to ME and I'll make my guess in due time
Meanwhile, welcome!
As I do not have my own site, the great Jim Galli is kindly hosting larger versions of the pictures I posted before for us so it is much easier to appreciate and assess the different qualities of these very fine lenses. My very sincere thanks to Jim and please enjoy!

Lens A
Lens B
Jim, did you ever shoot any pics with the Pinkham Bi-Quality you got from me? Perhaps I missed them when I was sick and not checking the forum.

My guess is that image (A) is the Series V Synthetic, and that image (B) is the Bi-Quality or Series IV Visual Quality. I believe that the Series V is softer in some regards and direction of the glow is based more on where a particular section is located in-regards-to the center of the image circle... Notice how the window latch bleeds more toward the center of image (A), while with image (B) the glow is more subtle and omnidirectional. Of course both lenses would be effected by the lighting conditions and how it is focused.
