Night Photography with IR?

In the May-June issue of View Camera there appeared a portfolio by a Rabbi....(I don't have it with me at the moment). The lead photo was a landscape, apparently shot in evening with a star studded sky above and little or no stellar movement is detected. The captioned indicated that the image was captured on Maco infra-red film using a Wratten 87 filter. Double exposure?

With the filter in place on the lens, you can use big flash bulbs. I don't know if electronic flash has enough IR in the light to do the trick.

If you get a chance to read the latest Lens Work #84 you may have a reason to doubt the technique described in the View Camera Mag.

If you read the article in View Camera it states clearly that he started off with a Toyo CX and has moved into Canons converted to infrared. Have not recieved by Lenswork yet to see what is written. Sounds like both are true. Often Lenswork shows work of photographers whose series started in film and ended with digital capture as they changed systems according to the small writing that describes equipment.
