Opening a V750 to clean the glass?

Sorry for the newb question! The only way I can see to open the top is via the 'V' shaped fasteners? And if so does anyone have an idea how they may be turned?

ps it is the bed rather than the cover that needs cleaning, the cover looks fairly easy maybe...

    Thank you,

    eric

No one? I have searched Google for hours and it seems no one has opened up a V750 and written about it...

I think there is a Yahoo group for Epson scanners. Actually, there may be help at this forum. Try searching here.

I put up a diagram link for the V7xx and other Epson scanners here:

The V7xx is a bit different compared to the 4xxx but the tutorial link is still good to read. For the V7xx, pop the four caps (probably will void your warranty) and access the four screws underneath. You may be able to use the stick-and-rip method with duct tape to remove the four caps without scratching them.

    Success!

I was able to remove the screw covers finally with tape. It took several attempts, pressing tape firmly over the cover and pulling straight up over and over and they finally came off. I did it with plain painters blue tape but if you have stickier tape that will work better of course.

After removing the screws the cover is a tight pressure fit.

The glass on my few months old V750 was fairly cloudy in spots underneath.

The screw covers are designed NOT to turn so do not try that, it won't happen.
