Since you are interested in photographing structures here is a shot made in the Jemez mountains at the Jemez State Monument that I will share with you.

Yep, I'd agree with Frank on that one.

There's also Tucumcari and Glenn Rio on the New Mexico/Texas border.

Las Vegas is a cool little town, they even have a Carnegie Library.

Cuervo, off of I-40 is an interesting ghost town close to the Texas border.

Is the food good or is the sign the only attraction?

They weren't open when we were there or I'd let you know. So for me, it was only the sign.

    Ditto what Jeremy said.

I did eat at two other restaurants while in Las Vegas which had good food.

    Re: Northeastern New Mexico...

In Las Vegas I've found good food not great food. Yes Don Bryant had more great shooting locations. About the church in Golden. It is a great icon of the southwest but the last time I was there I was really hassled by a lady for setting up my LF camera at the front of the church. There were a couple of signs in big letters "NO PHOTOGRAPHY". Any inspirational moment I had was lost so I begged forgiveness and left.

Boy I'd like to join you fellow Texans but I'm going to be in coastal Maine for a bit longer.
