4x5 Fuji HRU Mic-X 5 minutes by Nokton48, on Flickr

Fuji 8x10 HR-U X-Ray cut down to 4x5, Graphmatic Holder, 4x5 Sinar Norma 180mm f5.6 chrome Durst Componon lens, full key sun. This was exposure #6, two stops over ambient reading of grey card EI 50 TTL Sinarsix 1/15 @ Fll. Short development is stock Legacy Mic-X 5 minutes 68F. Cesco flat bottomed 8x10 tray, sheets developed singly. I did a sort of ring-around, varying exposure and development times. This is the lowest contrast version which I like. 8x10 Arista RC #2 Multigrade dev Omega DII with Omegalite circuline head Cool thing is this works out to about 7 cents per 4x5 sheet.

2 boxes of Fuji HR-U green 8x10 just arrived from Ebay (2026-07-31 expiration date) and I'm bleary-eyed reading about half of this thread.

I can feed this to multiple sheet film cameras; from 3.25 x 4.25, 9x12cm, 4x5, 5x7 and Whole Plate view cameras, so I have my work cut out for me.

Prices are going up a bit; $43 per 100, but that's still peanuts compared to even Arista Edu sheet film.

Hope to post some examples in a few weeks. Still figuring out my workflow and safe light situation.

    Should be fun!

I got a box of Fuji that expired in 2001. Going to see how well it works this weekend.

I'll bet it'll be fine. I have a box of double-sided green from 2005. Kept it in a drawer. It's totally fine.

I just mixed up some D-23 after reading on Mr. O'Neil's experiences with it and Fuji HR-U and I was stunned at how easy it is to make. Never paid much attention to the formula before; only 3 ingredients, one being water?

    I'm in love.

I have enough bulk chemicals to make thousands of gallons of this stuff. Hope it works as well for me as it does for Andrew.
