A step in the right direction. I still bristle when a public (or is it semi-public?) agency talks about its own property more than a little, but it's nice to feel decriminalized anyway! Now perhaps others will follow suit.
A photographer I know was riding from Chicago to LA a few years back, perhaps in 2003 or 2004, and ended up being just about locked up in her sleeper cabin under the strictest order not to take pictures without any reason provided other than the conductors decided then and there that they wouldn't allow her to take pictures with her suspicious looking Hasselblad.
It states that if one of their officers or any other Amtrak employee deems that you look "suspicious" then they can pretty much harass you as much as they like. So expect to be hasrassed.
