Thatís true ó if I had to guess, maybe around 100? I mean I know at least 4 people that have taken a similar picture with their 8x10, so throughout time probably still many dozens... Gosh I assume back in the day, when LF cameras were *the* only cameras around or very common, people still visited Zion.....
Itís fun to think about this.

Re: What did you compose at Waters Edge?

This week I found a box of negatives I had misplaced since moving a few years ago. These included a bunch of 4x5 and 120 negatives I had selected to print back at my old house / darkroom, so in other words my better images. So I've been having a ball printing some of these to larger sizes I couldn't do back then.

One of these negatives was from November 2014, taken along the Withlacoochee River in south GA. The water was low, with lots of tannin, and the leaves moved along with the flow beautifully. I am pretty sure I used my Chamonix 45n1, Nikkor 90mm, and an R25 filter, on TMX, likely developed in Rodinal. Here's the image:

And here it is, printed to 19 x 23 inches, in the wash:

Very cool. I don’t think I’ve seen that effect with flowing leaves before.

Thank you both. The conditions were just right for that - flowing enough to show motion but not so many leaves to overwhelm the tannin water. These southern rivers don't flow like the mountain streams - they are slow and steady.

This along with 8 or 9 other images were featured in a small show with the local Riverkeeper association back in 2015. There was a large county park that had many miles of trails along this river that I photographed for years - sometimes flooding, sometimes in drought.

Speaking of flowing water, here's another old negative printed recently, this time along an offshoot of the Alapaha River near Jennings, Florida. Taken with exactly the same gear as the previous image - Chamonix 45n1, Nikkor 90mm + R25 filter, TMX, but developed in FX-39. Here is the 19x23 print as matted to 24x30 and photographed with my D800e in the "studio" area of my basement:

My good friend and I canoed to this remote area of north Florida a number of times. But the first time I went I shot 2-3 really stupendous negatives. I need to visit Florida again and go back with my Noblex, which I didn't have back then. This shot was about 30 seconds long if I remember.
