Mark, I like those cool tones. Show the mood through craftsmanship.
Maris, you are seeing in that photo as Thoreau would; little details plus harmony of the woods.

Beautiful color shot, Mark.
JP, you've had some great shots at Birch Point Beach State Park in Owls Head, Maine.
A great place to photograph. I think you're there often & lucky to be so close !
Maris, lovely images (as usual) !
Great detail in the blacks and nice control of highlights of Laguna Bay shot.
Monotux, your image certainly conveys a quiet mood. Nice.

I know just enough to be dangerous !
Very crisp and pleasant scene Dennis; you thought that in B&W well.
I found myself at the beach again yesterday. Photographing the mood and light and water. Fall afternoon light is special. 7.25" verito, 4x5 fp4+ in pyrocat hdc. I was feeling experimental and made large format soft focus action photos of the light and water and then video with my dslr both sharp and completely out of focus. Out of focus video with good sound really worked nicer than I expected.. Still needing some work with the 4x5 for this style, but It's a motivating start as I'm partly pleased and think much better is possible with practice.

\|/ This cell phone snap conveys the light quality and energy I was experiencing at the moment. (The Ries Jr. tripod is great for salt-water exposure.) Some LF portra with a sharp lens would have been awesome, but I was not prepared for that.
A negative I developed yesterday, but exposed at the end of the year 2015 on the local coast. Water's edge...edge of the world looking south! 8x10 negative photographed on the light table and inverted.
Zone VI 8x10 camera with Fuji W 250/6.7. Ilford FP4+, developed in Ilford Universal PQ Developer, 1:20, 68F for 5 minutes in a Jobo 3005 Expert Drum. I thought I was developing something entirely different -- might have given a bit more development otherwise to boost contrast. But how nice to be surprised!
