Stone - yeah the negs are pretty dense in the sky and water. Gotta love that contrast. Reciprocity helped with the mood of that first one I think. The scene originally metered at 25sec f/22, I decided rather than make a 214 second exposure I'd wait for the light. 10 mins later it metered as a 6 second exposure, with reciprocity it ended up being 32 seconds which wasn't too unwieldy. You'd think in all that time I would have remembered to use a loupe, not just trust my fancy dollar shop +3.5 diopter reading glasses.
You could have made 2 whole exposures in that 10 minutes! Time waster!!!

Even when I use a loupe I sometimes miss one corner hah! Just wait till I start shooting 8x10!!

For seascapes I rarely use swings so I usually just loupe the nearest point, the horizon line and the tallest structure or area of detail. This one I just used +3.5 diopter reading glasses. I'm getting +5 readers this week. I'd really like to avoid a loupe all together I'd possible.

Beautiful. I especially appreciate the look of the water that you achieved at 1/4 second.

It was my pleasure to spend the day of March 20th photographing Hobcaw Barony near Georgetown, SC. It is simply a great for photography, no crowds, great subjects from the low country of South Carolina, plus items from the area history. Worth a Google search or much better a visit.
This is in one of the tidal wet land areas.

    Camera – Kodak 7x11 Format Eastman View # 2
    Lens – Gundlach Radar 8x10 Radar F4.5
    Film – Ilford HP-5 processed in HC-110

Another shot from my Hobcaw Barony trip on March 20th.

These are two of my favorite shots. Both are of a pier out into the wetland, from two angles. Notice the birds on the pier in one of the shots.

Camera – Old Graflex 3A, converted so 120 roll film is use, giving a panoramic format.
    (The 3A was a roll film camera (format 3 ½ x 5 ½) with film long obsolete)
Would be as if using a roll film back on a 4x5, except the 3A is a reflex camera.
Lens – Old B&L lens about 6 inches mounted for use on the 3A
Film – Kodak Ektar C-41 home processed’

Re: What did you compose at Waters Edge?

We are having some pretty major flooding down here in south GA. The rain just doesn't let up. Most of the city here is actually built in swampy lowlands.

This image was taken at a local WMA. This area normally has no water. The real swamp and water starts about a quarter mile down the boardwalk. I bought some waterproof rubber boots to go out into the water - I was about 6-7 inches deep (I guess it's not quite "water's edge!). I was on the lookout for gators. Didn't see any today but yesterday saw a medium-sized 6-7 footer sunning right next to a parking area that was flooded.

Going back tomorrow morning and slogging a little farther with a friend. Buddy system! I don't risk it with this area - I've seen 10+ foot gators here.

Anyway - taken with my Chamonix and 75mm Biogon on Tri-X 320, developed in Acufine:
