    Beginning scanning problem

    Hello all,

Any idea what is causing the strange middle-gray ring to appear as the dark tomes fade to the white? I'm using a Microtek i900 and VueScan--target is a Polaroid Type 52.

Do I need to create a custom profile?

Are you using a piece of glass to hold the Neg flat?

    Re: Beginning scanning problem

I've found that the problem only occurs when the Vuescan scanning resolution is set to its highest setting (3200 dpi).

The prints are 4x5 Polaroids (the develop and peel kind)--no negs. My plan is to scan a bunch of these and the move to scanning 4x5 negs once I'm comfortable with the scanner.
