4x5 Polaroid film with an actual 4x5 image

I asked this question before and some responded that the typ 559 would create an image that was 4x5 in. However at the polaroid site the "more info" link state s that the image size is 3 1/2 x 4 5/8. I'm confused. I would to experiment wi th pol. image transfersbut would like an image larger than 3 1/2 x 4 5/8.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

That is the image size on all 4x5 polaroid material. the other approximately 1/4 inch on the sides is the border area. and Actually i believe you are asking about Type 59 film as I have never heard of Type 559.

If you would liketo do Polaroid Transfers larger than 4x5 there is of course the 8x10 format.

Regular 45 film exposure area is 3 3/4 in x 4 5/8, your not going to get a full 4x5 exposue area except maybe with pinhole photography.Pat

Type 559 is a pack film and is smaller than the Type 59. There is no Polaroid film that is close to (except the type 59) the acual size of 4x5. 1/4" loss is what you will get all around.
