Thanks a lot Nana, I have the Epson V700 with the plastic supports set to +. I made a couple of tests and found it to be a bit sharper than the default setting.

cropped from 8x10 Fomapan 100/PMK, B&J 8x10 field camera, Symmar-S 300/5.6 at f8 tilted up to blur the background even more. Shooting into the sun at R Waldo Tyler preserve/marsh in Thomaston, ME. scanned on epson v700 from the negative. Nice shadows in the foreground, nice bokeh from the sunsparkling ice chunks in the background.

I have a V700, too. I use that setting, too. I bought, last year, a Howtek 4500 drum scanner for a ridiculous price (150€) but I'm still waiting for a scsi board for my computer...

Wow a drum scanner for 150 euros, that sure sounds like a bargain. I'd love to buy one too!

    Thank you.

Yes, I do, always. This lens has a 2 f-stops vignetage, wich is a lot....

Thank you, this one came out sharp, indeed. I changed from Rodinal to D76, I like much more the results, with this combination.

As to the drum scanner, I bought it in a comercial printing factory (I don't know if this is correct, in english) those big facilities where they print books, advertising posters, post cards, businnes cards, marriage invitations, etc.

These guys used drum scanners, but, nowadays, most of thme use professional huge flatbed scanners, wich are much faster and simple to scan. A lot of drum scanners have stoped a few years ago. The guy who sold me the Howtek, asked me 150€ and told me it was just because he didn't want to give it to me for nothing!

You should try to find some of these drum scanners on those facilities.
